Release Date: 10.15.2021

some things - album cover - photo by Stephanie Teng - Jodie Chan (JOYA)

About the song: Some Things (don’t change)” is about celebrating the constancy of someone you love, at a time when everything else might feel like madness.

Launched with a music video dedicated to my partner May Chow, the music video literally is of our every day - from mornings having coffee, to her dogs, to meals with friends, and unsuspecting footage of everyday life during this past year.

“I hope it carries the feeling of infinite joy of being in a love that’s in it for the long-run.”

LYRICS

f I were 100,

I would’ve watched these redwoods grow

I’d tell you that most things,

From dust to dust,

they come and go

Most things come and go, but

Some things wont change,

like the moon that pulls the tide

I’ll love you the same

For as long as you are mine

as long as you are mine

Don’t you see that -

Love, you're

better than the best kind of dream,

With you, things are just as they seem

With you, I don’t need more than the same

With you, I know that some things won’t change

Love,

better than the best kind of dream,

With you, things are just as they seem

With you, I don’t need more than the same

With you, I know that some things won’t change

I don’t ask for bliss,

on these currents we will run,

Moments like this

I’ve got the moon, I’ve the sun

They’ll be days of thunder and lightning

There’ll be days you won’t let the light in

But the world spins on, let the world spin madly on x 2

Cause Love, you're

better than the best kind of dream,

With you, things are just as they seem

With you, I don’t need more than the same

With you, I know that some things won’t change
