About "Put Me At Ease"

Released Dec 11 2022

put me at ease - single cover art

I wrote this song on a 30 minute hike at sunset in Hong Kong, completely in love.

I wanted both the lyrics & music to paint an open, blissful, danceable soundscape that captured the lightness of being in love with the right person. The song is a slight departure or evolution from my previous releases, but the songwriting style remains story-driven.

Imagine the kind of feelings you have on a road trip with your favourite person. That’s what I wanted to capture.

This single is lifted from my upcoming EP, due fall of 2023. This single also marks her first partnership with producer, Cody Fitzgerald, based in Brooklyn, New York.

---- Lyrics ----

I heard recently,

that vulnerability is a work in progress

Well, so am I

But I couldn’t help but find

The embers in my mind

Questioning the irony

That strength is found in being weak / the strength it takes to make me weak

You see, falling isn’t like me

But you make, falling for you easy with

Questions that feel like a gentle squeeze,

Over my shoulder and

Waves of calm are washing over me

As my eyes hold ya

“Our best days are ahead,” you say

Catch your breath “Let’s take the slow lane”

Oh, you put me at ease

What a wild thought,

You’re everything I’m not

Except for all the ways that count,

You’re all the traits I want around

You see, falling isn’t like me

But who knew how good falling could be

Questions that feel like a gentle squeeze,

Over my shoulder and

Waves of calm are washing over me

As my eyes hold ya

“Our best days are ahead,” you say

"Catch your breath. Let’s take the slow lane”

Oh you put me at ease

You make falling easy

You make falling easy

You make falling easy

With questions that feel like a gentle squeeze,

Over my shoulder and

Waves of calm are washing over me

As my eyes hold ya

“Our best days are ahead,” you say

"Catch your breath. Let’s take the slow lane”

Oh you put me at ease
